This is the first time a Singaporean has been nominated for the leadership position of a UN Agency. Am grateful the WIPO Coordination Committee supported Daren. We look forward to WIPO’s General Assembly approving Daren’s appointment as Director General in May 2020.
This was a team effort by officers in IPOS, Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs (opens in new tab), Ministry of Law, Singapore (opens in new tab) and Ministry of Trade & Industry (opens in new tab), all our Overseas Missions, Non-Resident Ambassadors and Special Envoys. Well done for flying the Singapore flag high!
